Three people killed in hit and run – police hunt for suspects

The Free State police are on the hunt for the unknown suspects that were involved in a hit and run on Thursday evening, 5 May, which left three people dead.

THREE PEOPLE KILLED IN HIT AND RUN

South African Police Service (SAPS) spokesperson Sergeant Josephine Rani said the alleged hit and run took place on the R59 road near Caltex in Vaalpark.

“It is alleged that on Thursday, 05 May 2022 at about 18:00, three people were killed after they were hit by an unknown vehicle,” said Rani.

POLICE SEARCHING FOR ALLEGED ATM BOMBERS

In an unrelated incident, the police in Deneysville, Free State are on the lookout for suspects who allegedly bombed the ATM at Thunder Doom liquor store.

The ATM bombing allegedly took place in the early hours of Wednesday. Rani said no money was taken and the suspects are on the run.

The Deneysville police station is investigating a case of malicious damage to property. Detective Officer Seabata Pitso is available at 082-466-7935 if members of the public have information about the incident.
