There have been reports of shooting near the White House

Authorities are investigating nighttime claims of gunfire near the White House. Three individuals were apprehended.

The U.S. Park Police received reports of shooting near 1600 Constitution Avenue at around 1:15 a.m.

This location is close to the National Mall and Washington Monument.

Officers discovered three empty automobiles that had been struck by gunfire, but it did not appear that anyone was injured. In addition, shell casings were discovered, according to WUSA-TV, a CBS station in Washington, D.C.

The Park Police stated that police discovered a handgun nearby and arrested a child and two adults. They reported that the minor possessed a handgun.

The Park Police noted that there was no ongoing danger to the public.

WUSA reports that Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) police and the United States Secret Service were also there.

The Secret Service later stated that none of the places it guards “were targeted by this event.”
