The teal independents are expected to defeat the Liberals in the 2022 Australian election

According to a recent survey, only two new ‘teal’ independents are on pace to win seats from the Coalition, but Treasurer Josh Frydenberg is on his way out of Parliament.

The findings come from a poll of 19,000 voters conducted by The Australian across all 151 lower house seats, which forecasts independent candidates Zoe Daniel in Goldstein and Monique Ryan in the Treasurer’s seat of Kooyong will be successful.

Allegra Spender in Wentworth, Kylea Tink in North Sydney, and Sophie Scamps in Mackellar are among the Climate 200-backed independents in Sydney who are unlikely to defeat their Liberal opponents.
