Mary and Jack are at the top of a new list of the sexiest names for English speakers, according to a recent survey.

Researchers from the sex toy business Lovehoney determined the results by examining the names of protagonists in the 120 highest-grossing romance films of all time and the 100 bestselling erotic fiction novels on Amazon.

The researchers questioned, “Have you ever hooked up with someone with an unmoanable name?” before disclosing a surprise finding from their pop culture analysis.

“All of the names on our top lists for men and women have fewer than seven letters, so length may be a determining factor in whether or not a name inspires romantic feelings,” the coital firm stated.

Hot name: Hunky Nick Young (Henry Golding) in the 2018 film “Crazy Rich Asians” made spectators’ hearts racing.

Jack is the most popular name for men, with dreamy figures such as “Titanic’s” Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio) and “Brokeback Mountain’s” Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal) helping to solidify the sex appeal of the traditional moniker.

Nick, Ben, and James, three similarly brief and traditional names, tied for second place.

Hunky Nick Young (Henry Golding) in 2018’s “Crazy Rich Asians” and Ben Barry (Matthew McConaughey) in 2003’s “How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days” both made viewers’ hearts racing.

James has long been seen as a manly name dripping with sexual allure, largely due to the sexy spy James Bond.

According to the research, the robust, straightforward, and basic names Peter and Joe are tied for third position.

Matthew McConaughey portrayed the seductive advertising executive Ben Barry in “How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.”

Four of the top six sexiest man names are acronyms or nicknames of larger names, which the Lovehoney researchers deemed important.

“According to a global study on flirting and online dating conducted by Badoo, using a shortened or diminutive version of your first name will ensure that you receive more online approaches than if you were to use your full name,” Lovehoney disclosed.

The Lovehoney team also interviewed behavioral psychologist Jo Hemmings, who stated, “People with abbreviated names appear more approachable, friendlier, and less intimidating.” A tiny name conveys friendliness and informality.”

James has long been seen as a manly name dripping with sexual allure, largely due to the sexy spy James Bond.

According to the data, Mary is the sexiest English name a woman could have.

The researchers cited Cameron Diaz’s portrayal of the gorgeous blonde Mary Jensen in “There’s Something About Mary” as typical of the virginal and flirtatious implications of the name.

In contrast, there is a four-way tie for the second-sexiest name, with Rachel, Kate, Julia, and Eva all being regarded as equally attractive.

Six names subsequently tied for third place, with one result particularly shocking.

The out-of-fashion Susan is one of the third-place finishers, however it is debatable if this is a “moanable” moniker.

Beautiful blond Mary Jensen (Cameron Diaz) in “There’s Something About Mary” appears to be symbolic of the name’s virginal and idealized connotations.

However, some of the most attractive ladies of modern times, including Madonna in “Desperately Seeking Susan” and Brooke Shields in “Suddenly Susan,” have played characters with that name.

Sophie, Mia, Julie, Bella, and Ana complete the third-place list.
