Thursday night, the parents of murdered University of Idaho student Kaylee Goncalves stated that they will forgive alleged killer Bryan Kohberger, but only after he pays “for what he has done.”

In a second interview with NewsNation, Steve and Kristi Goncalves indicated that, to them, justice requires the death penalty for the 28-year-old criminology PhD student suspected of killing their daughter and three other classmates.

“We will forgive this person, and we will,” said Steve Gonclaves to Ashleigh Banfield. “However, he must pay for his actions.” “In addition to our daughter, he must pay restitution to all the victims.”

When asked by Banfield how justice would be served, the bereaved father responded, “For me, it will resemble an end.”

He stated that being incarcerated with access to books, schools, and three meals every day would not suffice for the family.

Bryan Kohberger could face the death penalty if he is found guilty of killing four Idaho kids.

“Justice is when you leave the planet and everyone can rejoice and be happy that you’re gone,” he remarked.

Banfield questioned both parents directly if they support the death penalty for Kohberger, and both parents responded affirmatively.

Steve Gonclaves stated, “If you wish to play the role of God, you will have to answer to him.”

Kohberger, who made his initial court appearance on Thursday in Moscow, Idaho, has been charged with four counts of murder in connection with the slayings on November 13. The other alleged victims are Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and Ethan Chapin, also 20.

Kaylee Goncalves and three others were murdered on November 13 in Moscow, Idaho.

During Thursday’s session, the alleged assassin did not enter a plea. If found guilty of any of the four murder accusations, Kohberger could face life in prison or the death penalty.

Even if prosecutors pursue the death penalty for Kohberger, it is quite improbable that he will be executed.

According to the Death Penalty Information Center, just three individuals have been executed in Idaho since 1976.

Richard Albert Leavitt, the state’s last convict to be killed, spent 26 years on death row before being executed by lethal injection in 2012.
