The Biden administration is taking five steps to secure access to abortion, according to Xavier Becerra, the secretary of the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) (HHS).

Those initiatives, Becerra stated on Tuesday, include boosting access to medication abortion and training health workers following the Supreme Court’s decision to overturn Roe v. Wade, which legalized abortion nationwide in 1973.

Becerra denounced what he called the court’s “despicable” decision that leaves abortion policy up to each individual state.

“There is no magic bullet. But if there is something we can do, we will find it and we will do it at HHS,” Becerra stated June 28, alluding to instructions that he received from President Joe Biden.

Becerra underscored that HHS would back Biden as he seeks to make available abortion drugs and to permit women to travel for out-of-state abortions.

Contrary to the Catholic Church’s teaching that “Human life must be respected and defended absolutely from the moment of conception,” both Catholics Biden and Becerra favor abortion.

Becerra would to say on Monday whether he believed that fewer abortions would be beneficial in America in the wake of the Roe decision.

“I think if we leave things in the hands of a woman to make decisions for her own body, we’re going to have the best decisions made,” Becerra told EWTN correspondent Owen Jensen.

By guaranteeing that federally funded programs and services supply these tablets in situations of rape, incest, or to save the woman’s life, in accordance with federal law, the HHS, according to Becerra, “will take steps to enhance access.”

He added that the department is also looking at family planning provider training, patient navigation in the “new reality,” and supporting doctors’ “clinical judgment” while managing pregnant patients in emergency situations.

Becerra continued by saying that he has instructed the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to also safeguard “family planning care,” which includes contraception.

Becerra said that “every option is on the table” in response to a question regarding the potential for building abortion clinics on federal property to get around state restrictions or assisting women in traveling to other states for abortions.

Becerra called expanding access to abortion pills a “national necessity” and highlighted it above all other measures.

He said that this involved doing all in his power “to prevent states from banning pharmaceutical abortion based on a disagreement with the FDA’s expert judgment regarding the drug’s safety and efficacy.”

Research groups that support life, such the Charlotte Lozier Institute, have voiced concerns regarding the safety of this kind of abortion for female patients.

According to Becerra, “how we react will reflect how we respect the rights, the dignity, and the wellness of women everywhere.” “Every choice is available. We shall make every effort, within the bounds of the law, to get in touch with patients and providers of support.

Just prior to his speech, HHS unveiled a website that purported to educate Americans about their “rights” to “reproductive health care,” which includes abortion. It suggests abortion funding, among other things, “if you need help paying for an abortion.”

Following Becerra’s statements, Senator Steve Daines, the Senate Pro-Life Caucus’ founding and chair, released a statement criticizing the Biden administration’s abortion policies.

The Republican from Montana declared, “The Biden administration will stop at nothing, not even a Supreme Court judgement, to put its radical, pro-abortion agenda on all Americans.

President Biden wants to force states to permit risky DIY abortion pills and is thinking about using taxpayer money to fund plans to set up abortion clinics in our national parks.

Instead of allowing Americans’ opinions on abortion to be heard, he wants to force states to allow abortion tourism across state lines.

“This is absurd,” he continued. I’ll keep fighting for every life, no matter how small, since our war is far from over.
