A boy from Texas was captured in Nebraska after leading authorities on a car chase that culminated with the discovery of a woman’s body in the trunk.
After leading police on a pursuit, 17-year-old Tyler Roenz of Humble was located in Aurora, Nebraska on Friday, some 850 miles from where he vanished.
Tyler, a high school track athlete, was transported to St. Francis Hospital in Grand Island in critical condition, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.
His mother Michelle Roenz, 49, is still listed as missing, but ABC 13 has been informed by sources that the bones found in the car belong to her.

Nebraska State Police were able to identify Tyler based on the depicted black Mazda in which they were last seen.

Nebraska State Police were able to locate the adolescent by recognizing the black four-door Mazda in which they were last spotted by Texas authorities.
Michelle was quite active on her Facebook page, promoting various animals in need and encouraging others to adopt them.
It is unknown why the two traveled to Nebraska or why he may have murdered his mother.
The family has not addressed the disappearance or the unidentified body in public.
