Ten 10 Films prohibited from attending murder prosecution of former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa

Ten 10 Films, a firm creating a documentary for streaming provider Netflix, is being prohibited from attending proceedings by the defense counsel for accused one to four in the murder prosecution of former Orlando Pirates and Bafana Bafana captain Senzo Meyiwa.

On Monday, the trial began more than an hour and a half late because lawyers were confined in the judge’s chambers over the topic.

Five men are on trial for the deliberate murder of the soccer legend, who was shot almost eight years ago at the home of his girlfriend’s mother, Kelly Khumalo.

After the Senzo Meyiwa documentary aired on Netflix four days before the trial, defense attorney Malesela Teffo accused the business of exposing potential witnesses to intimidation.

“It was after my potential clients for witness 1-4 companies that we have been exposed to the harassment, to the intimidation. It is common cause that this court knows that we have been harassed, starting with me.”

The judge in the matter asked for a 10 minute adjournment to apply his mind on the Ten 10 films – Netflix arguments.
