Summary of the greatest sporting moments in the globe

It was an action-packed weekend of sports around the globe, highlighted by significant outcomes in the English Premier League, the netball quad series, and the HSBC sevens series championship. In the DStv Premiership, records were also broken, while several teams’ dismal results have placed them in precarious positions.

Here are some of the most memorable moments of the weekend:

Kaizer Chiefs’ problems persist

On Saturday night, Soweto heavyweights Kaizer Chiefs lost 1-0 to defending DStv Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns, extending their woes. Amakhosi suffered a league double against Sundowns for the first time in history, surrendering six goals in three meetings. They have not tasted success in 2023 and will try to close the month with a victory over Royal AM on Sunday.

Spar Protas will make a comeback.

Following a disappointing start to the netball quad series on Saturday, in which they lost 61-41 to New Zealand, South Africa displayed a fighting spirit on day two and secured a 46-46 draw against a strong England side in dramatic fashion, with captain Bongiwe Msomi displaying a player of the match performance. The Spar Proteas are now in last place with a single point and will face the leaders Australia on Tuesday evening.

Now, you cannot say you did not like it. What. A. The game was played until the very end. Thank you for your perseverance, SPAR Proteas.

Thank you for the competition, @EnglandNetball
