Spurned lover dumped his ex-girlfriend in a hot pool after a family argument

After pushing his ex-girlfriend into a hot tub and dousing her in water after a heated family argument, a dumped lover was sentenced to prison for assault.

Rebecca Lee, 30, was knocked down and fell into the water by 31-year-old Carl Hogan after he barged into her back garden late at night and started arguing with her about their young kid.

Despite not being wounded in the accident, Miss Lee, who had previously prevailed in obtaining a restraining order against Hogan, was said to be “embarrassed at being totally wet.”

Later, when confronted by police, she said: “I don’t think he would do anything to injure me, but I just want him to leave me alone.” I assumed the restraining order I obtained would be effective, but it is obvious that it won’t. Simply put, he won’t get away from me.

Hogan, an air conditioning engineer from St Helens, Merseyside, has a history of harassing Miss Lee. He had violated the restraining order nine times before receiving a suspended sentence earlier this year for bothering her three more times in just 13 days.

It was discovered that Miss Lee was attempting to push her ex-partner away when she stumbled and fell into the hot tub.

Hogan admitted to violating a restraining order, the suspended sentence, and common assault and was sentenced to 46 weeks in prison at Sefton Magistrates Court.

Hogan was given a two-year restraining order in February of this year, according to prosecutor Amanda York.

He was forbidden from getting in touch with his ex by any means other than a lawyer or social worker to set up child contact. In February, he was also given a 20-week jail term with an 18-month suspension.

It was just after midnight on July 30 when the complainant was in the back of her property, she continued. She had been drinking and chatting with a friend in the backyard when I found her.

When Hogan said, “Where is my boy?,” Ms. Lee and her companion Chloe were in the garden.

The court overheard Ms. Lee and her companion yelling for Hogan to get out.

She propelled him in the direction of the garden’s exit, Ms. York continued. She fell into the hot tub after being pushed back by him and tripping on a cable.

She shouted at him to leave louder since she was embarrassed by how wet she was, and he then took off.

Hogan, according to the court, has a “long history of attacks and restraining order violations.”

He shouldn’t have been at the address, and he correctly realises that, said Patrick O’Hanlan in his defence. Alcohol had taken effect on him. I think it’s fair to say that he has a wish to see his little son as a driving force.

District Judge James Hatton said to Hogan before sentencing: “Your record of convictions is shocking, particularly for disobeying court orders. This series of offences would have required incarceration even with the suspended sentence.
