Socialite Nicky Haslam, whose royal pals include everyone from the Duchess of Cornwall to Prince Michael of Kent, insisted the Sussexes should have named her Doria

After speaking with the Duke of Sussex on the phone, the Queen thought Harry and Meghan would name their daughter Elizabeth, not Lilibet, and was shocked when they disclosed their decision, according to a friend and interior designer to the royal family.

Socialite Nicky Haslam recently asserted on a podcast that the Sussexes should have named her Doria. Among her royal friends are the Duchess of Cornwall and Prince Michael of Kent.

The Queen, according to Ms. Haslam, was shocked to learn that the couple had actually called the infant Lilibet when she was born last June since she had assumed she would be named Elizabeth.

“We want to call our daughter after you, Granny,” Harry reportedly stated when he called her, the man claimed.

She responded, “How sweet of you, thank you,” anticipating Elizabeth.

They received permission, but they chose not to disclose their names.

Ms. Haslam continues on The Third Act podcast by wondering why Harry and Meghan didn’t name the child after the mother of the American former actress.

Why, oh why, didn’t they name that infant Doria? He enquired and added, “Isn’t it the prettiest name ever?”

Since the BBC’s royal correspondent Jonny Dymond stated last year that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex did not ask the Queen if they may use her family pet name, Lilibet, there has been mystery around the couple’s decision to use it for their daughter.

Prince Harry and Meghan responded by suing the BBC in an extraordinary legal maneuver, claiming the report was “false and defamatory.”

The Duke communicated with his family ahead of the announcement, with his grandmother being the first relative he called, according to their spokesman.

He mentioned their intention to give their daughter the name Lilibet in her honor during that conversation.

“They wouldn’t have used the name if she hadn’t been encouraging,” they claimed.

The mystery of what they said or didn’t say during their telephone call with the king has now been deepened by Ms. Haslam, a friend of the royal family.

The Queen’s name, Lilibet, has significant sentimental significance because her late husband, Prince Philip, and her father, George VI, both called her by this name in private.

According to a royal analyst, Buckingham Palace’s decision not to release the explosive probe into charges of bullying made by Meghan Markle is an “olive branch” to the Sussexes.

The royal family may be hoping that the pair will “receive in kind” in regards to Harry’s planned memoirs and rumours of another meeting with Oprah Winfrey, according to commentator and author Richard Fitzwilliams.

In light of the investigation, the Queen’s aides today revealed that Buckingham Palace had “updated” its HR procedures.

However, they refused to make the full report public because, according to a royal insider, “the household seems to be scared of upsetting or irritating Harry and Meghan.”

According to Mr. Fitzwilliams, making the findings public would have exacerbated the already tense relationships between the London and LA houses and even prompted legal action.

He claimed: “The Palace has simply shut it down in light of the likelihood of a biography by Harry later this year and who knows what else if the Sussexes, as aspiring philanthropists, were angered. Clearly, this is a hand extended to the Sussexes as well.

Additionally, he said: “This is not a monument to transparency and individuals involved may likely feel badly done by, especially considering the charges that Meghan mistreated workers” amid fears it will create pain for the staffers who said they were tormented.

Following shocking charges that surfaced 15 months ago as a result of staff complaints during a “toxic period” before the couple emigrated in early 2020, the Queen announced the investigation last year.

Royal aides who were “broken” described being embarrassed, “sick,” “terrified,” left “shaking” with anxiety, and brought to tears. Meghan was charged with “driving them out” and “emotional brutality” towards her workers. The Sussexes were dubbed “outrageous bullies” by one.

The palace employees who came out last year told The Times that there had been a long list of alleged instances of “emotional maltreatment.”

The Sussexes’ attorneys adamantly denied that their clients intimidated or otherwise mistreated employees between late 2018 and early 2020.

In their interview with Oprah Winfrey, which was made public hours after the claims surfaced in March 2021, Meghan and Harry then accused the Royal Family of “perpetuating falsehoods” about them and each other.

Additionally, according to royal sources, when Harry and Meghan visited the UK for the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, the Prince of Wales had a “very emotional” first encounter with his granddaughter Lilibet and a unique reunion with grandson Archie.

To see the family, Charles and Camilla were “extremely pleased.”

Harry and Charles had a strained relationship. Harry said to Oprah Winfrey last year that he felt abandoned by his father, who he claimed had abandoned him financially.

At the briefing for Clarence House’s annual assessment, a senior royal adviser, though, claimed it had been “fantastic” to have the Sussexes back in the UK at the beginning of June.

‘It was amazing to see them,’ I said. The fact that they were back in Britain was amazing, according to the insider.

The prince and duchess were overjoyed to meet them, according to the report.

The prince, of course, hasn’t seen his grandson Archie in a while, so spending time with him was quite special.

He had never met Lili, his grandchild, so getting to meet her was a very emotional and amazing experience.
