Six remarkable records were set during Mamelodi Sundowns’ triumph over TS Galaxy

Tuesday evening, the defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns broke a lot of records in their 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy.

First, Masandawana became the first side in the DStv Premiership this season to score against every opponent. This is the tenth time in PSL history that they’ve scored against every opponent.

Second, Rhulani Mokwena became the first head coach in PSL history to win his first nine league games in charge of a premier team.

Cristiano Ronaldo was punched in the face.

Mamelodi Sundowns extended their PSL record for consecutive league victories to 13 with their victory over TS Galaxy.

Peter Shalulile (8G 2A) became the first player this season to directly contribute to 10 goals. Shalulile’s eighth goal of the season also propelled him to the lead of the Golden Boot award standings.

Rushine de Reuck is the 15th different Mamelodi Sundowns player to score a league goal this season. It comes as no surprise that no other team has had more players contribute a goal. In reality, three teams have scored fewer than 15 goals while two others have scored exactly 15.

Mamelodi Sundowns have scored first in 13 consecutive DStv Premiership matches, the longest such streak in PSL history.
