- In photos taken less than two weeks after divorcing from her boyfriend of eight years, Julie Bishop smiled with a group of young miners. The former foreign minister shared joyful pictures of herself at an event hosted by the Mineral Resources mining services company on Instagram. According to reports, Ms. Bishop, 65, and her longtime lover David Panton, 61, broke up over dinner on July 1 at a restaurant in Sydney’s central business area. She was all smiles and seemed carefree in the photos shared on Monday night after speaking at a Mineral Resources professional development session. She captioned the photographs, saying, “Addressing employee grads at Mineral Resources’ professional development program, sharing my career story, the sliding-door moments plus a few tips!” Since late June, when she shared images of herself and Mr. Panton dining with Prince Charles in London, Ms. Bishop had not posted anything on Instagram. Ms. Bishop was spotted on Tuesday evening when she arrived in Canberra for the annual John Gee Memorial Lecture at the Australian National University (ANU). A cheerful Ms. Bishop was pictured posing with Rafael Mariano Grossi, director-general of the International Atomic Energy Agency. Ms. Bishop, who has been the university chancellor for two and a half years, gave the opening remarks for the event while elegantly attired in a black flowery top, pants, and heels in front of a packed crowd. At the event, which was held in memory of the late diplomat Dr. John Gee, Argentinian Mr. Grossi served as the main speaker. Since her breakup four nights prior, Ms. Bishop had not been seen in public until that moment. She made her first public appearance with Mr. Panton in 2014. Since then, the two have been seen together at a variety of occasions, including Karl Stefanovic and Jasmine Yarbrough’s wedding in 2018. When Mr. Panton declared that the relationship had reached its end on July 1, the couple went out to supper, according to the Sydney Morning Herald. For the foreseeable future, I’m going to concentrate on living in Manly and Melbourne, Mr. Panton told the outlet. “I wish Julie continued success in her outstanding work,”This Is A Simplified Version (AMP)!
