Video from a neighbouring automobile captured the horrifying moment an 18-wheeler went off a Texas bridge after colliding with another vehicle and creating a catastrophic catastrophe that claimed one life.
The semi-smash truck’s through the bridge barrier, collision with the road below, and subsequent explosion of flames are all captured on camera.
Gustavo Gomez, the 71-year-old driver of the fatal car, perished in the collision as mail and bundles flew out into the street below.
According to reports, a USPS employee was observed at the scene of the collision snapping photographs of the damage and making calls.
According to Gomez’s wife, who described him as a “wonderful driver,” he had five children and had been operating semi-trucks for close to 21 years.
Gomez’s wife, Helen Torres, described her husband as “quite humorous” and noted that because he worked as a truck driver, he “truly valued a decent, functional automobile.”
The distraught Torres added, “He’s gone; there’s no turning back from that.”
We are now broken, she said. “We are lost.” He was scheduled to return home.
In the collision that caused a raging blaze, she stated that her spouse was “burned up quite severely,” but she also said she “needed some knowledge of what occurred.”
“I don’t feel my husband was at all at fault,” Torres said. “My husband was extremely cautious and understood what he was driving.” That machine was large, and he knew it.
The incident, which caused miles’ worth of gridlock on the highway, was being investigated, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
