Revealed! The secret to Peter Shalulile and his success at Sundowns

Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile says that hard work is the secret to his success over the last two seasons.
Sundowns have romped away to a big lead and have the most impressive squad in the league, comfortably outstripping Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates, however, Shalulile is the jewel in their crown.
Shalulile firmly believes that putting in extra work in training and preparation gives him a competitive edge.
The Namibian striker currently tops the goalscoring charts in the DStv Premiership, with 13 goals, which is one shy of his tally from the whole of last season.

Peter Shalulile wants to do well for the club and his teammates

Shalulile said that the group at Sundowns is a close-knit one and he always wants to do well for the team.

“It’s just about the work you put in and the extra work on top of that. At the time when people are sleeping, you just have to put in the work,” Shalulile told sundownsfc.co.za.
“What keeps me going is simply the fact that I just want the club and my teammates to be happy and for the club to do well. I also get my motivation from players abroad that are also doing well, that helps me to push every day to stay at this level. Its not easy scoring but we work so hard to make sure we are able to score each and every day.”

Shalulile has struck up a productive alliance with new recruit Neo Maema. All of Maema’s assists in the league this term have fallen to Shalulile.

“It has been a tough season so far with all the new players coming in, we all have a connection, but with Maema specifically it’s just something we worked on at training,” Shaulile added.
“I tell him whenever you get the ball on your left foot or right foot, I will [make the run in the space], it’s more about knowing where we are on the pitch. He’s really good at finding players in the box, he is tops.”
