Remainer QC asked Rishi Sunak if Tories ‘ready to select a brown man’ as PM

After asking Rishi Sunak if the Conservative Party members were “ready to pick a brown man” as the future Prime Minister, a Remainer lawyer incited outrage this evening.

Jolyon Maugham QC enraged Tory MPs with his tweet this evening. He was previously labeled “an notorious fox killer” after clubbing one of the animals to death while donning his wife’s satin kimono.

The 51-year-old claimed that because Indian-born Rishi Sunak is a “brown man,” Conservative party members might not choose him as their next leader.

Replying to Sunak’s Conservative leadership bid announcement on Twitter, Maugham said: ‘Do you think the members of your Party are ready to select a brown man, Rishi?’

The comment has sparked fury among Tory MPS, with one minister branding Maugham an ‘awful man’.

Do you believe the people of your Party are ready to choose a brown guy, Rishi? Maugham tweeted in response to Sunak’s launch of his Conservative leadership quest.

One minister called Maugham a “awful man” after the statement infuriated Tory MPs.

I’m afraid that friends like [Sajid Javid], Rishi Sunak, Priti Patel, and Nadhim Zahawi will have to deal with this foolishness frequently.

“All have remarkable success stories predicated on desire,” he continued.

They represent the great British success story of second generation immigrants making significant contributions to the public and business sectors as well as the House of Commons.

‘And yes, the Conservative party are ready to elect and House of Commons colleagues would be proud to serve in public life under a brown man, or a brown woman, you awful man Jolyon Maugham.’

Meanwhile, Tory MP Mark Jenkinson blasted Maugham, whom he called the ‘darling of the left’.

He said: ‘WTAF. Darling of the left, hopefully they’ll be swift to denounce him.’
