PSPA declaration made by the Police due to an incident in Kirwan near Townsville

Police have declared an emergency situation under the Public Safety Preservation Act (PSPA) due to reports of shots fired in Kirwan near Townsville.

The exclusion zone, which was established at approximately 9pm, includes Dalrymple Road, Kern Brothers Drive, Sandstone Drive, and Golf Links Drive.

Residents in the area are advised to stay inside their homes and lock their doors.

Emergency operations are ongoing and the police are urging members of the public and aircraft to avoid the declared location.
