There are five PSL transfers that may occur today.
Kermit Erasmus: Kaizer Chiefs at sunset
A transfer for the Sundowns striker has essentially been ruled out by Chiefs MD Bobby Motaung, but in sport, everything is possible. Fans of Amakhosi would be much more upbeat about the 2022–23 season if they had a player of Kermit’s experience and calibre.
Golden Arrows to Kaizer Chiefs, according Pule Mmodi
The attacking Amakhosi squad has sometimes seemed feeble and is in serious need of a reorganisation.
Pule Mmodi, a 29-year-old forward for Golden Arrows who is in excellent form, is interested in joining Chiefs.
The only player with more PSL goals this season than Mmodi’s four is Peter Shalulile (six).
Free agent to the Orlando Pirates is Ndumiso Mabena
This would fulfil a number of requirements. At the highest level, Mabena has a tonne of experience. Pirates, Chippa, and Maritzburg are reportedly interested, but it is clear who the favourites are to sign him. Moreover, he has prior Buccaneer experience.
Sundown to Cape Town City, by Lyle Lakay
Lyle Lakay has fallen down the left-back pecking order since Terrence Mashego joined Sundowns. As a straight replacement for Mashego, Lakay may be moving today, maybe on loan to Cape Town City.
