Prime Minister Boris Johnson met Argentinian President Fernández at the G7 Summit in Germany today

At the G7 Summit in Germany today, Prime Minister Boris Johnson had a meeting with Argentinian President Fernández.

The war in Ukraine was discussed by the leaders. The Prime Minister backed President Zelenskyy’s request for international assistance, highlighting the significance of the international community preserving Ukraine’s sovereignty. No matter what we said, the Ukrainians would not stop fighting. They were struggling for their life while witnessing the deaths of their loved ones.

The Prime Minister and President Fernández decided to collaborate on a number of areas that concern both the UK and Argentina, such as assisting in the export of grain from Ukraine and developing sustainable energy.

The Falkland Islands were mentioned by President Fernández. The Prime Minister was firm that their sovereignty is not in question.

The right to self-determination belongs to all people, the prime minister emphasized, including the residents of the Falkland Islands.
