Speaking at the inaugural lecture of Niger State Governor-elect Umar Mohammed Bago, Kwankwaso emphasized the importance of politicians focusing on uplifting the people instead of engaging in looting public funds.

Politicians’ Responsibility to Improve Lives

The former Governor of Kano State asserted that the primary goal of every politician should be to enhance the lives of ordinary Nigerians across the country.

Kwankwaso highlighted that the failure of many governors to deliver meaningful progress in their states after four or eight years of governance can be attributed to a lack of competence and knowledge.

Kwankwaso underscored that money alone should not be the driving force behind political actions.

He urged politicians not to engage in the sale of public buildings, churches, or mosques to benefit their friends and family, as such actions would lead to regret once they leave office.

Instead, the focus should be on improving the lives of the less fortunate and marginalized segments of society.

He urged Bago to surpass the achievements of previous governors, using their accomplishments as benchmarks for measuring successful administrations in the North.

Governor-elect’s Commitment to Progress

In response, Governor-elect Mohammed Bago assured the people of Niger State that he would operate with transparency and an open-door policy.
