President Ramaphosa wishes the Jewish community a happy Rosh Hashanah and High Holy Days

President Cyril Ramaphosa has sent his best wishes to the Jewish community for Rosh Hashanah and the High Holy Days, which conclude on Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.

As at sunset on Sunday, September 25, 2022, Jewish communities in South Africa and throughout the globe are honouring Rosh Hashanah, according to the Presidency.

The Jewish High Holy Days begin with Rosh Hashanah, often known as the Jewish New Year.

“At a time when our country faces many challenges, we draw strength from the deep spiritual reserves of the Jewish community and of all the South African people, as we strive to make our country a better place for all who live in it.

“May you and your loved ones be inscribed and sealed in the Book of Life for a good and sweet New Year,” the President said.
