Pregnant sea otter grabbed a surfer’s board in California’s Pacific Ocean

Here’s the humorous incident when a pregnant sea otter in southern California’s Pacific Ocean snatched a surfer’s board.

The confrontation between a sea otter and Chad Underhill-Meras’ buddy Nick “Parts” Ericksen was captured on camera earlier this month.

The black otter is in the spotlight on the surfer’s treasured item as the five-minute film begins.

The surfer seems to be very careful around the marine monster and does not attempt to knock it off his board out of concern that the possessive animal may strike.

Ericksen may be seen sprinkling water on the animal ineffectively.

His surfing mates can be heard applauding and laughing at their buddy from back on land because they cannot believe what they are seeing.

According to Underhill-Meras, the sea otter “started nibbling and biting the board,” and based on its size and territorial behaviour, it was probably pregnant.

The otter briefly dips into the water at one point before lunging towards Ericksen.

The animal successfully bounces back to the top of the board quite soon.

The server tries to get the surfboard back to the shore gently but surely but runs out of options.

The surfer pulls the board back to shore very carefully and remains cautious around the otter despite the fact that the footage was taken from a distance.

Another surfer can be seen riding by and helping his pal a few minutes into the video.

He ultimately succeeds in moving the board a bit closer to the shore, much to the amusement of people watching from the shore, but the otter then pursues him.

Eventually, Erickson returns to land, and the otter moves on to other activities.

In his account of the event to CNN, Erickson said, “It crawled on and made itself at home.”

It somewhat reminds me of a pit bull puppy. Although it seems charming, it may be quite hazardous.

According to Underhill-Meras, “This otter had apparently been experiencing episodes like this all week, and attempted to bite numerous other individuals the next day.”

He jokingly wrote: “Had a bad case of the Monday’s yesterday.” after uploading the footage on his Instagram. His surfboard was stolen by a pregnant otter, who then began to nibble on it, leading to a standoff.

He nearly was assaulted a few times before being pursued in like a genuine local, but at the end he gets a little aid to get his board back.

Additionally, Underhill-Meras describes how Ericksen had been considering getting an otter tattoo but may be changing his mind now.
