Lil Tjay was arrested in The Bronx on Monday after a loaded firearm was discovered in the vehicle he was riding in, according to authorities.
Tione Jayden Merritt, a musician who is 21 years old and whose real name is Tione Jayden Merritt, was in a vehicle with several friends when police stopped them for unknown reasons.
According to police, the Bronx-born rapper and one of his friends were brought into prison on pending charges.
Social media reports indicate that the “Brothers” musician, who is signed to Columbia Records, was in the borough to shoot a music video.
“Video shooot today lol it’s litt,” reads a post on his Instagram story.
Lil Tjay was shot many times during an attempted robbery at a retail center in Edgewater, New Jersey, seven months before to the arrest.
