Police are searching for two suspects responsible for killing a grandmother and injuring her eight-year-old grandson during a hit-and-run incident

Police are looking for two suspects in the hit-and-run incident that claimed the life of a grandmother and seriously injured her eight-year-old grandson.

Around 7.10 p.m. on Saturday, police approached the unnamed driver and a passenger in a Honda HRV with mismatched license plates in the Bed-Stuy neighborhood.

According to investigators, the two passengers were smoking marijuana when they ‘fled at an extremely high rate of speed.

Speeding along Ralph Avenue, the motorist hit a 28-year-old bicyclist, two pedestrians, and one of them was killed. The car continued driving down the street, sped through a stop sign, hit a Honda Accord head-on, then struck a 43-year-old guy walking on the sidewalk.

After the crash, the individual was able to move swiftly, and his injuries are not life-threatening.

A short while later, the motorist fled the scene of the collision as onlookers pursued him.

As of Monday, the suspects were still at large, according to the New York Police Department.

When the car struck Lynn Christopher, 67, her 8-year-old grandson Jacob, and a male bicyclist, 28, near the intersection of Ralph Avenue and Macon Street, they were all traveling home from Downtown Brooklyn.

Christopher, who had three heart attacks in March but survived each one, was declared dead at the scene, and her grandson is still in serious condition there.

Lesley Christopher, Christopher’s daughter, informed ABC 7 that Christopher was spending the day with her two grandchildren when the event occurred.

‘They went to Downtown Brooklyn, just to hang out with their grandma – their favorite person on the planet,’ Lesley said.

Lynn and Jacob were hit while returning home. It’s unknown if Lynn’s other grandchild was present when the accident happened.

Lesley discovered the wreckage of the crash while walking her dog on Sunday morning following the event on Saturday night.

‘I saw this hat on the street, and I said ‘that looks like my mom’s hat, but that’s not right because she’s still in Downtown Brooklyn,’ I had no idea,’ Lesley said.

The condition of every other casualty, including the Honda Accord’s driver, is stable.

The investigation is still ongoing.
