Phil Mickelson attacks PGA Tour: ‘I’m on the winning side’

Jeddah – Phil Mickelson attacked the PGA Tour on Thursday, claiming that he is on the “winning side” while competing in the LIV Golf Series.

Mickelson made these remarks in Saudi Arabia prior to the inaugural tour’s final stroke-play tournament in Jeddah. The LIV Golf Invitational-Jeddah begins on Friday at King Abdullah Economic City’s Royal Greens.

It is also Mickelson’s first trip to Saudi Arabia since he allegedly made contentious remarks in an unauthorized biography.

Mickelson stated, “I am confident that I am on the winning side of how professional golf will evolve and shape in the future years.”

“I appreciate how they include us in decision-making and consider our input. Things are so inclusive and fluid that LIV Golf is in the lead.”

He was not completed.

“LIV Golf is growing higher, while the PGA Tour is trending downward,” stated Mickelson. “I adore the side I am on. And I enjoy the way I feel. I enjoy feeling revitalized and eager to play golf and compete. I adore the adventure. I appreciate how they treat us.”

Mickelson has one Top 10 finish in six LIV events.

Mickelson also took a different approach when addressing the Alan Shipnuck book in which he allegedly referred to Saudis as “terrifying motherf—-ers.”

Previously, Mickelson maintained that his statements to Shipnuck were off-the-record and taken out of context. However, on Thursday, he categorically denied ever speaking with the author.
