PERMANENT SECRETARY BOOSTS STAFF MORALE ENCOURAGING THEM TO BE PROACTIVE

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Youth and Social Development, Pharm (Mrs.) Zeinab Oluwatoyin Oke-Osanyintolu has enjoined the staff of the Ministry to be proactive in their approach to social issues affecting society.

She gave the charge during her first meeting with the management and staff of the Ministry. Oke-Osanyintolu affirmed that the State Government has done a lot in tackling the social challenges of society, emphasising a need for Social Workers to be more proactive in their service delivery to residents.

In her words: “By being proactive, many issues could be nipped in the bud before they snowball into intractable problems that would require more effort, time and resources to tackle. In fact, research has shown that the best time to tackle a problem is at its infancy before it gets out of hand”.

Soliciting the cooperation of all and sundry in the Ministry, the Permanent Secretary said the support of every member of staff is essential to achieving all mandates, saying “I cannot do it alone. My door is open for valuable suggestions and constructive criticisms that will help the Ministry in its efforts to fully implement the T.H.E.M.E.S Agenda of Mr. Governor”.

Pharm (Mrs.) Zeinab Oluwatoyin Oke-Osanyintolu, a master’s degree holder in Bio-Pharmacy from Kings College, University of London, joined the Lagos State Public Service as a Principal Pharmacist at the then General Hospital, Ikeja on the 5th of June, 2000.

Mrs. Oke-Osanyintolu, was recently redeployed to the Ministry from the Parastatals Monitoring Office.
