Passenger dies in Warrego Highway collision near Brisbane

A passenger in one of the vehicles was killed in a two-car collision despite the efforts of two off-duty physicians who stopped to provide treatment.

Sunday around 10:40 p.m., two automobiles crashed on the Warrego Highway in Lawes, Queensland.

The driver and passenger of a crimson 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer car sustained significant injuries after colliding with a westbound 2022 Toyota Avalon sedan.

Following the collision, the Warrego Highway was stopped for up to five hours as emergency personnel cleaned the scene.

The freeway reopened at around 4:00 a.m.

Police have asking anyone with dashcam evidence of the collision or who chance to drive by seconds before to come forward.
