Oyo State Students emerges winners of the 2022 National Schools Essay Writing and Nigeria Mathematics and Sciences Olympiads Competitions

Master Asala Oreoluwa of Government College, Ibadan, and Miss Rosemary Anuoluwapo Ajiboye of Sacred Hearts College, Akinyemi, Ibadan, respectively, have won the Nigeria Mathematics and Sciences Olympiads Competition and the 2022 National Schools Essay Writing Competition.

Human Capital Development organized the National Essay Writing Competition, which Master Asala Oreoluwa won, for the competition’s June 2022 edition at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja.

At the competition’s second round, which led to the finals, 11 States were represented. Anuoluwapo won the competition and will represent Nigeria at the next international Physics Olympiads Competition in Switzerland from July 7–12, 2022.

While hosting one of them (Anuoluwapo Ajiboye) at his office in Ibadan, the State Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Barrister Rahman Abiodun Abdu-Raheem, expressed his delight over the performances of the students and the management of their schools, saying it was a sign that the State administration’s investments in the education sector have been producing favorable results.

In addition, Barrister Abdu-Raheem praised the performance of the various stakeholders, including teachers and the State education monitoring units, and expressed satisfaction with the accomplishments of the students. He also maintained his confidence in the improvement of schools in the State in both external exams and national competitions.

“This is another indication of positive yields coming from the investments of the State administration, under the watchful eyes of Governor Seyi Makinde, in education, we are just witnessing the beginning in the areas of individual students’ performances, we shall start soon witness the same in the performance of the State in external and national examinations, which is already reflecting in our national position overtime,” he said.
