Earlier this month, tourists traveling to Spain were warned that they risked be caught in uncommon Mediterranean hurricanes.

The probability of tropical-like cyclones known as medicanes has increased, according to experts, due to this year’s record heat waves impacting the United Kingdom’s most popular holiday destination and the rise in water temperatures attributed to global warming.

Yurima Celdran, an oceanographer and weather expert, remarked, “Higher Mediterranean temperatures provide a bigger energy supply for medecines and intensify their destructiveness.”

“Autumn sea temperatures are forecast to be above average, and if the requisite atmospheric conditions are present, it would not be absurd to assume that the Mediterranean may harbor a menacing hurricane this year,”

In September 2019 in the regions of Alicante and Murcia, seven persons were killed by torrential rain, terrible lightning storms, and flash floods.
