OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. – The Oklahoma City Fire Department rescued a dog that had fallen through the ice of a frozen lake.

On Christmas Eve, the dog was rescued after falling through the ice-covered Pines West Lake in northwest Oklahoma City.

A video of the rescue shows one firefighter on a blue and white paddle boat in the middle of the frozen lake.

When they arrived, the paddle boat was already on the lakeshore, according to the Oklahoma City Fire Department.

The dog’s owner can be seen standing at the shore of the cold lake, holding a rope that was attached to the dog.

The golden, fuzzy head of the puppy appears behind the paddle boat as the firefighter struggles to get the animal aboard.

After a few tugs, the puppy is dragged onto the vessel.

Firefighters tow the boat over the icy lake and onto the shore with the dog and firefighter aboard.

The dog, who was drenched to the skin, was then hauled off the boat.

According to the Oklahoma City Fire Department, the animal had no visible wounds.
