Obiano’s Sustained Interventions On Road Infrastructure In Awka North Council Area

Within some rural communities in Awka North Local Government Area, Governor Willie Obiano is carving his name on marble as far as road and other infrastructure are concerned, even as his administration is winding up in a matter of weeks from now.

 

ABS staff writer, Gab Okpalaeze, who was at Mgbakwu, reports that Governor Obiano awarded and completed construction of the road leading to the Anambra? State Polytechnic, Mgbakwu from Ifite-isu Isuaniocha Junction in 2019 and 2020.

 

ABS also gathered that the Governor also started and is on the verge of completing some parts of internal road network in the Polytechnic, which include the road leading from entrance to back gate, the Agriculture Training Center to the polytechnic farm and to the Health Center, among others, through the State Ministry of Works, is on the verge of completing internal road network of the polytechnic.

Other roads currently being embarked upon are from the polytechnic main entrance gate to administrative block, with another running through to the Veterinary Clinic building, Multipurpose hall and classroom blocks.

 

Other areas being tarred are from the Multipurpose hall to hostel, from hostel to the polytechnic farm extension areas, from hostel to staff quarters; and another connecting road from the hostel to office and classroom blocks, and to the Students Affairs office.

 

These amount to a total of seven link and connecting roads currently under construction with drainage system.

 

The Rector of the Polytechnic, Dr Nneka Mefor, while speaking to the ABS on the development, appreciated the Governor for his magnanimity in seeing to this and other developmental strides in the institution.

 

ABS also observed that members of council, management, staff and students of the Polytechnic, as well as Mgbakwu community are happy with the development, as they joyfully move around the project sites to see things for themselves.
