During his Saturday visit at the Kansas City Chiefs vs. Jacksonville Jaguars playoff game, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis was welcomed with open arms.

DeSantis seemed upbeat in a video shared on social media as he shook hands with Chiefs supporters in the front row, some of whom were taking photographs with their phones.

Holding Mason’s hand, DeSantis moved down the row with the support of his security detail.
In the end, the Jaguars were defeated 20–27.
The quarterback of the Kansas City Chiefs, Patrick Mahomes, sprained his ankle severely during the team’s divisional round, but he still plans to participate in the AFC Championship game.
DeSantis proposed a plan to outlaw Covid requirements in the state permanently last week.
According to DeSantis, he has put up legislation to “make Covid freedoms in Florida permanent.”
The’strong pro-freedom, anti-mandate move will permanently safeguard Floridians from losing their employment due to Covid vaccine requirements, preserves parents’ rights, and implements new protections that prohibit discrimination based on Covid vaccination status,’ he said.
The plan eliminates vaccine and mask requirements in schools, forbids Covid passports in the state, and forbids businesses from making decisions about employees’ employment based on their Covid vaccination records.
The purpose of the action is to defend Floridians from the “biomedical security state.”
The plan further asserts the protection of “medical freedom of expression” by pledging to safeguard the rights to free speech, the freedom to disagree with the “preferred narrative of the medical community,” and the religious beliefs of medical practitioners.
DeSantis said in the announcement of his plan that “when the world lost its mind, Florida was a bastion of sanity, acting forcefully as freedom’s lynchpin.” These actions will guarantee that Florida stays that way and provide medical professionals historic free speech safeguards.

Additionally revealed this week was Florida’s decision to prohibit high school students from enrolling in a brand-new Advanced Placement (AP) subject in African American Studies.
In a letter dated January 12 to the College Board Florida Partnership, which manages the state’s AP program, the Florida Department of Education stated that the course was “inexplicably contrary to Florida law and significantly lacks educational value” and that it was therefore not “approved for inclusion.”
The letter, which ABC acquired, said that “FDOE would always be happy to revisit the dialogue,” should “[the] College Board] be willing to come back to the table with legal, historical correct information.”
