Motorcyclist traveling at full speed crashes into the door of a church in Bogotá, Colombia

On the evening of July 25, a motorcycle rider in Bogotá, Colombia, smashed into the entrance of a church while riding at top speed. The vehicle ended up halfway down the main aisle inside the church.

The incident happened at 11 p.m. local time. The Our Lady of Valvanera Church, which is situated at the conclusion of a T-intersection in the El Restrepo district on the south side of Bogotá, was struck by the motorcycle rider. The internal glass door was also broken by the collision.

The rider reportedly suffered no significant wounds and was able to stand up by himself, according to the local press.

The motorcycle was located close to the altar when firefighters and police arrived at the church.

Early in the morning, neighbours aided in repairing the church’s damage, and until the door is restored, panelling has been used to temporarily cover the entry.
