Most uncommon celebrity baby names in history

No longer are “John” and “Sarah” acceptable possibilities for the offspring of the wealthy and famous. Now, A-listers are embracing innovation. Here is a list of the rarest celebrity baby names of all time.

Kylie Jenner revealed in January 2023, nearly a year after she announced his birth, that she and Travis Scott had named their son Aire.

The “Kardashians” star emphasized that the pronunciation of her son’s name is “Air” and not “Airy.”

Jenner revealed in March 2022 that she had renamed Aire since she “didn’t really feel like it was him” when he was called Wolf.

In September 2022, Trisha Paytas gave birth to her daughter. The YouTuber and his husband called their daughter Malibu Barbie.

At the time, Paytas exclaimed through Instagram, “She has arrived!”

Grimes claimed in a March 2022 interview with Vanity Fair that she and on-again, off-again boyfriend Elon Musk named their daughter Exa Dark Siderl, whom they secretly welcomed via surrogate in December 2021.

However, the artist and Tesla magnate refer to their daughter as Y, which is appropriate given that they call their son — whose full name is X A-XII — X.

Nick Cannon is no stranger to utilizing his creative side while naming children. The Nickelodeon alum appeared to utilize wordplay while naming his baby Zillion Heir Cannon in June 2021, as the name sounds similar to “millionaire.” Cannon and Abby De La Rose chose the name Zion Mixolydian for Zilly’s twin sibling.

The names of Cannon’s older children are similarly unusual: Powerful Queen Cannon (whose mother is Brittany Bell), Golden Cannon (whose mother is also Bell), and Moroccan and Monroe with ex-wife Mariah Carey.

Scheana Shay and Brock Davies’s kid, Summer Moon Honey Davies

Scheana Shay and Brock Davides’ child’s name is out of this world and adorable. On April 26, 2021, they had their daughter, Summer Moon Honey Davies.

The “Vanderpump Rules” star previously stated on the Bravo show that she and Robert Parks Valletta would have called their kid Madison Marie Parks Valletta if they had a daughter.

Rupert Grin and his longterm partner Georgia Groome named their baby Wednesday Grint after the “Addams Family.” The “Harry Potter” actor revealed their child’s name when he joined Instagram and posted a selfie with Wednesday as his first shot.

Elon Musk and his girlfriend Grimes shocked the world when they announced that their son, born in May 2020, would be named X A-12. The pair revealed that the tangle of letters and numbers had a secret meaning, with Grimes adding, “X, the unknown variable,, my elven spelling of Ai (love and/or artificial intelligence), A-12 = predecessor to SR-71 (our favorite aircraft),… My favorite band is Archangel, and my favorite song is “Metal Rat.”

It is unknown how the name should be said, but we feel for any future teachers who will attempt to speak it while taking attendance.

North, Saint, Chicago, and Psalm are Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s four children.

Before revealing the name of their first child together, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West kept their fans in suspense, and when North West was born in 2013, no one was disappointed. After that, the names became increasingly inventive. Son Saint was born in 2015, daughter Chicago in 2018, and son Psalm was born via surrogacy in 2019.

Beyoncé and Jay-Z went all out in 2012 when they named their baby Blue Ivy. The pair did not choose the name at random; it has importance to them. Beyoncé hinted at the meaning of Blue by posting a poem, and fans believe that Ivy represents the Roman numeral IV, which is significant to the marriage. The couple chose slightly less unique names for their twins, Sir and Rumi, who were born in June 2017. The rapper added that Rumi was named after their favorite poet, while Sir was derived from the manner in which the infant held himself.

In September 2003, Jason Lee and Beth Riesgraf welcomed their first child together and called him Pilot Inspector. Lee added that one of Riesgraf’s favorite songs by the indie rock band Granddaddy inspired the moniker. The connection between Lee and Riesgraf did not endure, but their son’s name has entered the annals of history.

Erykah Badu’s children’s names are completely random. 1997 marked the birth of the singer’s son Seven, whom she shares with André 3000. The next year, in 2007, she and The D.O.C. named their daughter Puma. In 2009, Badu and Jay Electronica brought their daughter Mars to Earth. Observe a pattern? Neither are we, as well.

Rachel Griffiths and Andrew Taylor chose their children’s names without assistance from a baby-naming book. Their kid was called Banjo after the poet Banjo A.B. Paterson and was born in 2003. Additionally, they share daughters Adelaide and Clementine.

John Mellencamp gave one of his children a pretty bizarre moniker. In 1995, he and Elaine Irwin welcomed their son Speck Wildhorse. Mellencamp has three further daughters — Michelle, Justice, and “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” star Teddi — and a son, Hud. While we may not fully get the naming decisions, we certainly respect them.

Apple, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin’s kid

In 2004, Gwyneth Paltrow and her ex-husband Chris Martin out-Googled themselves by naming their daughter Apple. The couple didn’t hesitate to be inventive with their kid, either, as they welcomed Moses in 2006.

Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale’s 2008 naming of their first son Zuma Nesta Rock, a name that, well, rocks, was not unexpected. In addition, they share sons Kingston and Apollo.

The rock band disbanded in 2016.

Moon Unit, Diva, Dweezil and Ahmet, kids of Frank Zappa
Frank Zappa (L) and Gail Zappa (C) with their children. Moon Unit (2L), Ahmet (2R) and Dweezil
Frank Zappa was impossible to stop. The late artist and his wife Gail ensured that their creativity went on via the naming of their four children: Moon Unit in 1967, Dweezil in 1969, Ahmet in 1974, and Diva in 1979. Frank died in 1993 of cancer, while Gail died in 2015.
