Brandon’s mother Lisa Dixon, who is now looking after his daughter Jordan, five, told FOX 29: ‘I feel like my heart has been snatched out of my body.
‘I don’t know who’s raising these children but they don’t care. They have nothing in them. And they took my baby’s life.’
The talented basketball player, who won prizes as a student at Plymouth Whitemarsh High, had no involvement in crime, Lisa insisted.
She said: ‘I would put my hand on the bible my son – that one – was not into anything. He was not.
‘Jordan said: “I’m not gonna see my dad anymore.” And I told her: “He’s here with us, he’s always gonna be here with us.
‘”Everything’s gonna be all right, we’re gonna get through this.”‘
Jordan simply said: ‘I love my daddy.’
The two suspects remain on the loose.
Police are offering a reward of $20,000 for any information which leads to an arrest.
