Min Woo Lee had an opportunity to change his life by winning the Players Championship on Sunday.

He was playing in the final group alongside Scottie Scheffler, with the chance to secure his place as a full PGA Tour member and qualify for major championships.

Going into the day, Lee trailed Scheffler by two shots but quickly reduced the lead to one with a birdie on the first hole.

When Scheffler bogeyed the third hole, they were tied at 13-under par.

However, Lee took a triple-bogey 7 on the fourth hole and was unable to recover, finishing nine shots behind Scheffler’s winning score of 17-under par.

Despite the disappointment, Lee was still proud of his result and believed it would take him a long way. He also praised the crowds, who chanted his name throughout the course.

On the other hand, Alex Smalley made the third hole-in-one of the week on the famous par-3 17th hole.

This was the first on a Sunday of the Players since Fred Couples did it in 1997, and it was the 13th ace on that hole in tournament history.

Although Smalley made a mess of the 16th hole, hitting a wedge over the green and into the water, he managed to go right at the flag on the 17th and sink the shot.

It was his first hole-in-one on the PGA Tour, and he made the cut on the number at 2-over to play the weekend.
