Michael B. Jordan: “Creed III” is the perfect directorial debut

Michael B. Jordan said that “Creed III” was the best movie for him to direct for the first time.

The 35-year-old actor, who will play Adonis Creed again in the “Rocky” spin-off, said he thought it was the perfect time to start directing.

Jordan told Collider, “It was the perfect time for me.” Growing up on sets and working in the industry for over 20 years, I started out as a background actor and extra. After seeing the sets change and everyone’s job and how a real production works, I finally got to a point in my career where I wanted to tell a story and not just be in front of the camera to carry out someone else’s vision.

Jordan has played Adonis in two movies before, and he said that he was at a point in his career where he could use his life experiences to tell a story.

He said, “This is a role I’ve already played twice. I’ve been living with this guy for seven or eight years. I’m telling a story about where I think Adonis is, and at 35, I had a lot to say about my life as a young man and as a young black man.

The actor who played Creed in “Just Mercy” said that the movie’s main theme was family. In the movie, Creed fights his childhood friend and former boxing prodigy Damian Anderson (Jonathan Majors).

Jordan said, “From a thematic point of view, family is always the heart of what we do. Face your past and find out who you really are.

“We talk about that in this movie.” It’s like coming home. It’s important to remember where you come from in this.

“Sometimes, we wanted to look at paying off debts and taking responsibility for what you do. This movie reminds me a lot of me, and I hope it does the same for a lot of other people.

“I wanted to make a movie where everyone could find something they could relate to.”
