Mattel releases a doll in a powder-blue suit.

She has assumed a variety of identities, including Elvis Presley. Now, Barbie resembles David Bowie from the Hunky Dory era.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of Hunky Dory’s album chart debut, makers Mattel have launched the doll, who also resembles Cilla Black, dressed in a powder-blue costume identical to the one David Bowie wore in the video for his single Life On Mars, pictured to the right.

According to the doll’s description, this outfit is made up of “her vivid blue eyeshadow and a ’70s glam era inspired haircut.”

David Bowie was a one-man global phenomenon, according to a Mattel representative, for his contributions to music, art, fashion, and movies.

Our second homage doll honors the 50th anniversary of his timeless hit song Hunky Dory, the legendary Life on Mars? video, and an outfit indelible linked to this pop chameleon’s persona.

‘We’re starstruck by the way designer Linda Kyaw-Merschon and her crew reenacted this illustrious period in Bowie’s life,’ said the audience.
