The community reportedly assaulted a 21-year-old guy from Mtunzini in KwaZulu-Natal till he died after being accused of raping a goat.
On Monday, September 5, 2022, shortly before midnight, the event apparently took place.
The guy tried to get into the house of a 61-year-old lady with the intention of raping her, but she fought him off and threatened to cut off his head, according to 1KZNTV News.
The lady was allegedly awakened by the sound of a wailing goat after the attempted home invasion. Further inquiry revealed that the guy had reportedly raped a goat while undetected.
The neighbourhood then assembled at the house of the elderly widow and took the law into their own hands by killing the guy by beating him.
According to Thenjiswa Ngcobo, a spokesman for the KZN police, the old lady said that while she was asleep in her home, she heard someone smash a window.
If the attacker attempted to enter via the window that he had already smashed, she threatened him with her bush knife.
“When the 21-year-old failed to enter the house he turned and raped a goat that belonged to the woman. When she heard her goat crying she woke her son who was sleeping in another house and the man was caught in action,” she told IOL.
The strange death of goats in a community in the Eastern Cape was eventually solved in July of this year when a guy by the name of Mamboyi confessed to having ‘non consensual’ relations with the animals.
Mamboyi, who is claimed to be a shepherd, was found following the most recent death of a goat in the neighbourhood at the time, which happened after he was last seen with the animal.
Numerous community members, including irate women, accosted the suspect for raping the goat in a video that went viral online.
After the ladies used a stern tone, Mamboyi ultimately admitted to having many relationships with the animal, who tragically died after the encounter.
