Louis Tomlinson desires a reconciliation with Zayn Malik.
The 30-year-old singer fell out with his former One Direction bandmate after the “Pillowtalk” singer left the group in 2015, but he is now “closer to being over all that” than ever before, despite the fact that they have not spoken.
Tomlinson was asked on “The Zach Sang Show” if he was friends with Malik, to which he said, “You’d have to ask him.”
“I may be mistaken, but I believe I responded when you asked me a similar question [before]… I remember I stated that I do not believe I am mature enough to overcome my frustrations in that relationship.
“I don’t know if I’m grown enough at this point, but I’m definitely closer to having moved on.”

The “Bigger Than Me” singer stated that he has “attempted to get in touch” with his former bandmate, but he does not have his phone number. However, he is optimistic that they may find a way to communicate.
He continued, “There have been countless occasions in the previous few years when I’ve thought about him and hoped he’s okay.
“But it is difficult. I certainly wish him the best…
“I believe in time. Because neither of us has the other’s phone number, I believe we will have to meet by chance. I suppose social networking could be the answer.”
Malik has criticized One Direction’s music in the past, but he’s started posting covers of their songs on Instagram recently, and Tomlinson said he was thrilled to see them.

He praised Malik as a singer of “a different caliber,” adding, “I didn’t just like it for the sake of enjoying it. It was a pleasant sensation since he has previously stated those things about the band, and I understood part of what he was saying.
“It appeared to me in those videos that he was reflecting. It demonstrated that he was recalling those experiences. Obviously, he was also displaying his great voice.”
