The Los Angeles Lakers have been facing many unfortunate events this season, making their playoff push all the more difficult.

Just as the team gained momentum, LeBron James injured his right foot during their comeback win against the Mavericks last Sunday.

It was revealed on Thursday that the team’s staff will re-evaluate James’ tendon injury in his right foot in three weeks.

Despite James saying he “heard a pop” after falling to the floor during the game against the Mavericks, the Lakers remain optimistic that he will avoid surgery.

In the meantime, the Lakers secured a road win against the Thunder on Wednesday without Anthony Davis and D’Angelo Russell.

However, on Tuesday, they suffered a 121-109 loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, during which James watched from the sidelines in a walking boot.

With a record of 30-33, the Lakers are in 11th place in the Western Conference standings and are within reach of the play-in tournament.

Despite James’ absence, the Lakers will look to keep their playoff hopes alive with the leadership of Davis and Russell.

Russell, who has been nursing a right ankle sprain, was expected to return on Friday against the Timberwolves but has since announced that he will not be suiting up for the game.

At the age of 38, James has been averaging an impressive 29.5 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 6.9 assists per game this season, and the Lakers will certainly miss his presence on the court.
