A court has found that a contractor in the United Kingdom perished after becoming caught beneath a urinal that dropped suddenly.
The BBC reported that 60-year-old Kevin Holding was killed on January 27 at Cambridge Circus in central London while servicing a portable urinal.
A recent investigation at the Inner West London Coroner’s Court revealed that Holding, an employee of Washroom Solutions Limited, had been working on the gadget for several hours until it unexpectedly collapsed at 1 p.m., pinning him beneath it.
CCTV captured the horrible event, according to the authorities.
The story added that while emergency services arrived nearly quickly, the vehicle needed to help lift the urinal was delayed for two hours.
Holding was pronounced dead outside the Palace Theater at 3:40 p.m. local time upon his release. His identification was based on his public transportation card.
Prof. Fiona Wilcox ruled that compressive asphyxia was the cause of death for Holding. She extended her “deepest condolences” to Holding’s girlfriend and three children at the inquest.
The Westminster City Council launched London’s pop-up urinals approximately 20 years ago, the BBC explained.
The devices, which are typically stored below, are hydraulically lifted at night to discourage public urination.
