Lily Allen defends nepotistic children who were deprived of’stability and love’ as children

In a series of tweets, Lily Allen responded to recent criticism of celebrity children by alleging that they are “starved” of stability.

Monday, in response to New York magazine’s “Year of the Nepo Baby” cover story, the singer tweeted that skeptics “should be concerned” about nepo children working in the legal, political, and financial sectors.

“We are discussing real-world repercussions and denying individuals opportunities. “BUT that has nothing to do with me,” the 37-year-old singer continued.

“Before you accuse me of being a nepotism myself, let me be the first to inform you that I deserve virtually nothing.”

In a later tweet, the Grammy nominee emphasized, “Both my parents [actor Keith Allen and film producer Alison Owen] are extremely accomplished.”

The entertainment industry is not “parent-friendly,” the former presenter of “Lily Allen and Friends” wrote.

“As children, we seek stability and affection,” she told her audience. “We are not yet concerned with wealth or proximity to power. As their parents are likely narcissistic, many nepotism offspring are deprived of these necessities during childhood.

Lily, who has appeared in several of her parents’ films over the years but has a poor relationship with her father, concluded, “It might be difficult to recognize one’s privilege when one is still dealing with childhood trauma.

“Many of these children have not yet realized this.”

This also occurs to poor children, who are affected more more severely because they lack money and financial security. What is your argument?

They are currently rehashing the argument “I don’t have white privilege since my life was difficult.”

One Twitter user accused Lily of “recycling the ‘I don’t have white privilege since my life has been difficult’ argument”

Someone else remarked, “This also occurs to impoverished children, and it is more worse for them because they lack money and financial security. What is your argument?”

Lily has appeared in her mother’s films as an actress over the years.

Lily was not addressed directly in the viral post, which featured Dakota Johnson, Lily-Rose Depp, Ben Platt, Zo Kravitz, and other celebrities who have yet to comment.

However, Depp did talk to Elle about the “strange” nepotism label last month.

She described her parents as extraordinarily talented and wrote, “I literally deserve nothing.”

“If a parent is a doctor and their child also becomes a doctor, you won’t say, ‘Well, you’re only a doctor because your father is a doctor.’” In November, Johnny Depp’s 23-year-old daughter informed the magazine. “It’s as if you said, ‘No, I attended medical school and trained’”

In the same issue of GQ, the 34-year-old “Big Little Lies” alum stated that it is “absolutely normal” for children to follow in their parents’ footsteps.

The actress, who was raised by Lisa Bonet and Lenny Kravitz, added, “This is really where last names come from.” “You were a blacksmith if your ancestry resembled that of the black family.”
