The leader of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) in Borno State died as a result of injuries received in an explosion allegedly caused by Boko Haram militants’ mines.
Five others were injured in the event, which occurred in Maliya village, Mandaragarau ward, Biu Local Government Area, Borno.
Before the event that took his life, Ibrahim Maliya Saidu was the planning secretary of the CJTF in Biu.
Top Cjtf member, Mohammed Aliyu who confirmed Maliya’s death, described him as a brave member who battled insurgents on several occasions.
He said;  “We received the sad news this afternoon, that one of our finest cjtf members died during an operation. it was a rude shock to everyone.
May the soul of departed rest in peace.“Rest in peace, my brother Ibrahim Maliya Saidu Maliya, alongside other friends of ours, including Docta Suleiman Sykami, who also stepped on explosive devices planted by suspected Boko Haram fighters.”
