An LAPD officer was detained for sharing nude images of his wife with coworkers and other males, according to officials.
Los Angeles prosecutors allege that Brady Lamas, 45, is facing six misdemeanor charges after his wife saw one of the images on his phone during a group conversation.
According to court records obtained by the Los Angeles Times, she stated, “I was unaware that images were taken of me and I did not provide permission for any photos of me to be shared with anyone.”
According to the site, she said Lamas took the intimate photos during a doctor’s visit following a breast augmentation and emailed them to others as “before and after” images.
In court documents, she stated, “My own spouse is a predator, and he preyed upon me.” I would have liked a punch to the face.
She wrote, “I was also concerned about how my husband would react when he learned I had discovered his horrifyingly unsettling behavior.”
The photographs were exchanged in a group discussion on a messaging service between December 29, 2021 and January 24, 2022. The news source said that his wife discovered them on January 30, per her application for a restraining order against Lamas.
Lamas, who has been placed on home assignment until the conclusion of the case, was released on a $20,000 bail during his Tuesday arraignment.
The victim reported that coworkers who had received the images made “strange” remarks to her, and she later concluded that they had seen the personal photographs.
After discovering the correspondence, she notified her boss and subsequently filed a police report with the local sheriff.
She said in court documents, “What is worse is that this humiliation will continue, possibly forever, because the intimate images and graphic movies are now in the hands of strangers and many LAPD coworkers.”
