The National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) programmes at the Lagos State College of Nursing (LASCON), Igando campus, are now accepting applications from qualified and experienced nurse educators.
The institution’s provost, Mrs. Oyefunso Orenuga, highlighted the need for additional faculty in a statement after the college started providing a Five-Year National Diploma programme for registered nurses and a non-terminal Higher National Diploma programme for registered nurses and PHNs.
She emphasised the necessity of having a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) or Bachelor of Nursing Science Degree (B.Sc) from an accredited university, as well as a Registered Nurse (RN) and Registered Midwife (RM) Certificate from the same institution, or its equivalent, for those interested in becoming Principal Nursing Officers (Grade Level 12) or Nursing Officers (Grade Level 9).
A Master’s Degree in Nursing or other Health Related Courses is an added advantage, according to Orenuga, who also stated that candidates must be duly registered with a current licence of the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria and must have at least five years of relevant experience from an Educational Institution (NMCN).
Anyone interested in working at the institution, according to her, should submit a letter of application together with copies of their diplomas, licences, and resumes to the college’s provost at Igando, LASU-Isheri Road, Igando, Lagos.
