Kody Brown was ‘disgusted’ when Christine moved to Utah with Truely

On Sunday’s episode of TLC’s “Sister Wives,” Kody Brown spoke about the next steps in his divorce from his third wife, Christine Brown, and it seemed like he was very concerned for Truely, his 12-year-old daughter.

In a one-on-one interview, he expressed displeasure at Christine’s intentions to move to Utah with Truely, saying, “I’m horrified by this thought that she’s leaving and she’s going to take Truely.” Truly, you are my kid.

Kody continued by expressing his desire to have a positive connection with Christine in order to prevent her from making any “crazy” choices. According to his “study,” guys “don’t win in the divorce world,” he said.

Approximately 27 years into their spiritual marriage, Christine and Kody announced their split in November. Son Paedon, 24, and daughters Aspyn, 27, Mykelti, 26, Gwendlyn, 20, Ysabel, 19, and Truely are their six biological children.

Kody attempted to persuade Christine that leaving Flagstaff, Arizona, where the whole Brown family, including Kody’s previous three wives and many of the children he shares with them, was residing at the time the episode was recorded, would mean relocating really away from a support system.

When Christine finally relocated to the Salt Lake City, Utah region, which Kody estimated was around eight hours distant from him, she had a totally different vision of what her ideal future would include.

Christine told the cameras in a solo interview, “What I’m looking for is a place to engulf Truly in family.” “I can transfer her to a more loving environment with more resources for assistance.”

The mother of six said that, unlike her elder children, Truely was unaware of the problems in her parents’ marriage. Christine said, “I would prefer remove her from this circumstance prior to her being aware.

Kody appeared to believe that the community Christine so desperately wanted to provide Truely was just out of reach for her because Christine wouldn’t abide by the stringent COVID-19 guidelines he set up so he could visit all of his wives’ homes during the epidemic. Only his first wife Meri and fourth wife Robyn followed Kody’s rules, as viewers saw see in season 16 of the programme.

Christine gave a solo interview to the cameras on the season debut and stated why she thought Kody was inaccessible to her and her kids long before the epidemic started in 2020.

Since the family moved to Flagstaff in 2018, Christine commented, “Let’s just say we’ve been here for 800 days.” “He once joined us on a hike. He has joined us on a kayak twice, but the first time he didn’t even enter the water. He has travelled with us three times total. Out of 800, three.”

When Christine first told Kody that she wanted to end their “spiritual” relationship, Kody was concerned that if she moved to Utah with Truely after they broke up, she would find and marry a man who would then take his money and his access to Truely.

Kody expressed this concern to Christine during their initial conversation. Christine assured Kody that despite her impending move, his biggest nightmare would not come true.

Though Kody now has three wives, Robyn is the only one to whom he is officially wed. In order to officially marry Robyn and adopt the three children she had from a previous marriage, he formally divorced Meri in 2014.

He’s never had a valid marriage licence with Christine.

TLC broadcasts brand-new episodes of “Sister Wives” every Sunday at 10 p.m. ET.
