According to an analyst, King Charles hasn’t been disturbed by the drama surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s participation at his coronation.
Royal analyst Daniel Elser addressed claims that Harry’s wife Meghan would feel “excluded” from the preparations for the major event in an article for news.com.au.
She talked about remarks made by a “close” source in The Spectator, who said that Meghan “feels ostracized” and that the Sussexes are “weighing up” whether or not to attend the coronation.
She discussed the expected response from the new King Charles but made no claims regarding the veracity of the remarks.
“I think we can pretty safely assume that Charles has not lost a single wink of sleep fretting about his potentially hurt daughter-in-feelings law’s about not being made to feel more of a part of things, with His Majesty tossing and turning in bed as Queen Camilla ignores him rereading Black Beauty with her nightly hot toddy,” Daniela wrote.
Only Prince of Wales William will participate in the formal coronation since Charles is believed to have scrapped the section of the ritual where the Dukes would have paid tribute to him at Westminster Abbey.
She also believes that if Harry and Meghan were to go, they would not be expected to join the other family members whose employment do not support the monarchy full-time on the balcony of Buckingham Palace.
Daniela remarked, however, that regardless of what transpires with the Sussexes’ visit, either their presence or absence will generate headlines.
“The irony here is, if Meghan really does ‘feel excluded,’ then she should take heart in the fact that her and Harry will, in either case, certainly become a distracting sideshow to the main event,” she wrote.
