The girlfriend of a 15-year-old kid who was stabbed to death by a man wearing a balaclava outside his school gates in broad daylight says her heart is destroyed.

Yesterday at 3pm, tragic Khayri McLean was murdered in front of terrified students as he walked home from North Huddersfield Trust School.

The boy was evacuated to Leeds General Infirmary by emergency personnel, however he was tragically proclaimed dead shortly thereafter.

This morning, Marcia, the mother of the child victim, visited the scene and was overtaken with sadness.

The police have opened a homicide investigation and arrested a 16-year-old boy.

Shyana James, 16, the devastated girlfriend of Khayri, stated that he was on his way home to change clothes and meet her when he was attacked.

She disclosed that he called her minutes before his death to let her know he was on his way to her, and then sent a Snapchat message indicating his whereabouts.

Shyana stated, “He was the greatest human ever.” He will sacrifice anything for you and would do anything for anyone.

Yesterday at 2.52 p.m., he told me he’d had a fantastic day and was looking forward to seeing me later.

‘He was heading home to change clothes before coming to mine.

He was my life’s greatest love. We were discussing our future the other day. He was the best person I ever knew.

Shyana, who has created a fundraising website to assist Khayri’s family with funeral expenses, was comforted by her 33-year-old mother, Sherrin, as she visited the scene today wearing Khayri’s coat.

Sherrin commented, “They were inseparable.” I would always drop him off at his residence after dropping him off at mine.

“He was a really good and quiet youngster. He would ever do everything for anyone. We have no idea what caused this; we are at a loss to comprehend why this has occurred. We simply don’t know. There were quite a few children that viewed it.

Ruben Duncan-Keane and Alfie Wilkinson, both 12 years old, reported that they witnessed the horrifying incident as they were leaving school.

They told reporters, with their parents’ permission, how they witnessed a teacher attempting chest compressions to save the life of a student who had been stabbed.

Alfie reported that his friends had seen ‘two men with balaclavas’ loitering around before school let out.

He stated, “They knew exactly who they wanted, and regrettably they got him.”

A spokesperson for the West Yorkshire Police stated that a 16-year-old boy had been apprehended, adding, “The child was arrested at a property in Huddersfield shortly before 5 a.m. this morning in connection with the incident that occurred yesterday afternoon in Woodhouse Hill, Fartown.”

He remains in jail as investigators from the West Yorkshire Police Homicide and Major Enquiry Team continue their investigation.

The identify of Khayri was established by the coroner in West Yorkshire.

West Yorkshire Police reported this morning that they had detained a 16-year-old boy on suspicion of murder following the fatal assault.

As of today, the location in Fartown, a suburb of Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, was still sealed off as the police investigation continued.

West Yorkshire Police called the homicide as a “completely pointless loss of a young life” and have increased patrols in the area tonight.

Andrew Fell, the school’s principal, issued the following statement: ‘It is with great sadness that I must inform you that, following an incident on Woodhouse Hill Road yesterday, one of our students tragically lost their life.

The student was rushed to the hospital by ambulance following the event, but despite their best efforts, medical personnel were unable to save their life.

Mr. Fell stated, “West Yorkshire Police has initiated an urgent investigation, therefore it would be inappropriate to comment further at this time.”

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance obstructed the roads surrounding the incident (shown), while parents expressed grave anxiety.

Billy Shankland and his son, a seventh-grade student at the school, attended the scene to place flowers by the cordon.

He stated, “I have a child of the same age, and I cannot picture what the family is going through.

‘He did not know the youngster, but he had acquaintances who did. It is shocking.

‘It is quite concerning because we do not know if it is random or targeted; for us, anything might be happening. It is terrifying.’

Lucy Smith, who resides close to the school, came to the scene to post a poem she had written on the outside railings.

She stated, “I believe we are all in shock; I have two teens of around the same age, and anyone with a family must be astonished and devastated.”

“It was really important for me to come here, when things like this occur, to do something to help us feel better when we are all feeling powerless in the face of violence and thinking about a family that must be coming apart today.”

A 46-year-old parent whose 14-year-old son attends the school told Yorkshire Live, “It was a frightening time when I heard there had been trouble and a teacher answered my son’s phone.” I believe he may have witnessed some of the events.

Staff requested that I come collect him. I’ve heard that everything appeared out of thin air. This student was seized, pinned to the ground, and repeatedly stabbed.’

The Yorkshire Air Ambulance had shut the roads surrounding the incident, and parents expressed grave anxiety.

Another father whose daughter attends the school stated that something ‘has to be done’ about the increase in criminality in the neighborhood, adding, ‘My daughter just began there and was boarding the bus home. A boy wearing a black helmet and a snood attacked a student with a knife before fleeing the scene.

She witnessed the altercation but did not see the knife or blood. The bus had just pulled up as it occurred, obscuring a portion of the incident; she appears to be fine, but I believe she is still processing it. It is only about her third week at her new school.

He stated that the neighborhood was beginning to resemble a criminal scenario.

A representative for the West Yorkshire We stated, “At 1.54 p.m. today, police received an allegation from a third party that a teen had been critically injured in an assault in Woodhouse Hill, Huddersfield.”

Pictures shot earlier today revealed that at least six police vehicles responded to the incident.
