Hosseini said that shifting is difficult on an emotional, physical, social, and psychological level, and that Haris has handled each hurdle with “grace, patience, and knowledge.”

‘Yesterday, my twenty-one year old daughter Haris came out to the world as transgender,’ Hosseini posted on Instagram.

I’ve been following Haris’ path since last year and have seen how she has handled some extremely tough personal circumstances.

Transitioning is such a difficult process on an emotional, physical, social, and psychological level, yet Haris has handled every difficulty with knowledge, grace, and patience.

As a father, I have never been more proud of her, Hosseini continued.

I’m thrilled to now have not just one, but two lovely daughters.

With his wife Roya Hosseini, Hosseini has two children: son Haris and daughter Farah.

The writer continued, “Most of all, Haris’ fearlessness, her daring to reveal with the world her true self, inspires me.

She has taught my family and I a great deal about courage and the truth. relating to what it means to live honestly.

I am aware that she experienced pain, anxiety, and grief throughout this process.

She is aware of the daily abuse trans folks experience. But she is resilient and unfazed.

I love my daughter, he added. Our family and I will support her every step of the way.

We are in front of her. Watching her enter the world as the stunning, intelligent, and brilliant woman that she is is a privilege.

God bless her, please.

Haris was the chief organizer of the 2018 Youth Climate Action Summit while she was a student in San José, California, where she attended Columbia University to study political science and human rights.

According to the International Congress of Youth Voices, Haris studied gender roles and contemporary gender studies during his time in school, particularly the concept of toxic masculinity.
